Simple LED Flasher Using 555 Timer IC
The figure shows a simple LED flasher using 555 timer IC, 555 is an ideal IC if you want to make any kind of led flasher, whether it is a simple one or having many LEDs blinking in different patterns. In some projects a 4017 is also used with the 555 timer IC to make different patterns of flashes.
In this project a single LED is used which will gets continously ON and OFF. As described above the heart of the circuit is a 555 timer IC which is working as an astable multivibrator in the circuit. The blinking speed of the LED can be increased or decreased by changing the values of two components which are a 10uF electrolytic capacitor and another one is 56K resistor. The 470 Ohms resistor in the circuit is used to limit the current goes in the LED.
The operating the circuit we have used a 9V battery here, but you can also use other voltage like 6 volts or 12 volts.
